Tannink'esh - tan - in - k - - eh - sh
Name derived from two Hebrew words. Tannin means sea monster (sea dragon or snake, though the modern Hebrew word of Tanin means crocodile), and esh means fire.
Tannink'esh have long fins in place of front legs that take on the general shape of an albatross' wing except claws stretch out from the bend in the fin and the fin is thick in the front and thinner in the back, like the airfoil of an airplane's wing. Its tail is long and snake like but ends in a thick tail shaped like the tail of a dolphin. Scales cover its entire body, including its underbelly. On its back, it has two sets of wings that are similar to bat wings but also look like one massive scale when folded up against its back.
Its face is similar to a lions, while instead of a mane, it has post like appendages sticking out around its head that has frilled gills sticking out of it similar to an axolotls. Its ears stick straight up from behind the gills facing outward.
The Tannink'esh is born deep in the ocean within deep sea thermal vents. It grows up in the sea and then upon reaching adulthood, leaves the sea and flies to high elevation volcanoes, where they mate within the lava fields inside the volcanos. Females then return to the place they were born to lay their eggs, while the males remain in the skies.
Tannink'esh, unlike dragons of most worlds, cannot breathe fire; however, their stomachs are in their upper chest, just under their neck. The strength of their stomach allows them to store boiling water and even magma. The Tannink'esh can then use their stored liquid to spray its enemies with liquid fire or boiling water.
